They Were Here a Minute Ago...
Do you have employees that work in the field, but need a temporary presence in the office for a short time here and there? Visiting health workers, real estate agents, field inspectors, construction managers, and claims adjusters all fit into this category. When they are in the field they can communicate using wireless options for their phone or laptop/tablet. When they are in the office, they need a workstation to complete reports and communicate with co-workers, suppliers, and clients. It is also a time to catch up on e-mail and voice mail.
Today many organizations provide an area with shared workstations that are equipped with a phone and computer connection for these workers. With VoIP phones and Unified Communications (UC) these workers can be more efficient. When in the office they can log into any phone and it becomes their personal desk phone complete with their message waiting, their caller ID, their personal directory, and their company extension. When they are ready to leave, they log out by pressing one button. With UC when they are logged out any calls to their company number will automatically ring on their cell phone including the calling person's caller ID. If the caller leaves a message it will be found in the user's company voice mail. This means that they never need to give out their cell number and they only need to check one voice mail for messages. Additionally, these voice messages can be sent to their e-mail as a .wav file attachment. All of these services are able to be customized and help improve the efficiency of the mobile worker.
